Some ways volunteers contribute to our programs:

  1. Volunteer as a Meals on Wheels driver to deliver meals to homebound seniors meals need to be picked up at Siouxland Aging around 10:30 each weekday. For many of these seniors, this may be their only meal for the day and volunteers may be their only daily contact. Volunteers not only bring a nutritious meal, but interact with the senior and may be a key in keeping the senior safe. You can commit as many or as few days as your schedule will allow. Delivery time is generally 1 hour or less per route. Click here to complete the Meals On Wheels Volunteer Form.
  2. Volunteer at a congregate meal site. Help serve meals or plan and provide entertainment at local meal sites for one or more days each month. Activities encourage attendance, additional socialization, and provide stimulation to keep minds healthy. Click here to contact Siouxland Aging Services’ Nutrition Director for more information.
  3. Define your role as a SMP volunteer. SMP volunteers are trained to help their peers protect their personal and health care information, detect potential errors, fraud and abuse, and to assist with reports of suspected fraud. You choose the role and the extent of involvement you want to have with SMP. Click here to contact the Siouxland Aging Services Advocacy Coordinator for more information.
  4. Apply to be a member of our Board of Directors or to serve on our Advisory Council. Bring your knowledge of senior needs and related experience to better our service in the five county area. Click here to apply for a position on the Board of Directors. Click here to apply for a position on the Advisory Council.
  5. Match your skills to one of our needs. This flexible option allows you to volunteer with us as your schedule allows.
