Are you a caregiver and having difficulty finding services for your loved one or friend who is elderly and needing assistance? Being a caregiver is not an easy role, nor is it one for which most of us are prepared. The Caregiver Specialist at Siouxland Aging Services will work with caregivers on a one-to-one basis to help meet the needs of the senior and the caregiver. Here are some examples of the services we provide.

Information and Referral
A service that provides a data base directory of all health care and support services available to seniors. This information is updated on a monthly basis.

Counseling
Provides funding for individual or group counseling for caregivers.

Respite
Provides funding for In-Home Respite, Overnight Respite in a facility, and Respite at an adult day care center.

Legal Assistance
Provides funding for caregivers who are in need of legal assistance to set up guardianships, miller trusts, etc.

Material Aid
Provides funding for caregivers needing essential equipment, assistive devices, etc. to assist in the care of the consumer.
